Will you join the discussion on free verse verses structured verse.?

I am getting a much better understanding of freeverse, though I do hanker after rhyme and meter. Of late I have been flitting between the two. I have noticed lately that there is not so much structured poetry on this site. I am a fan of both. Of your two poems, I prefer the second.
