Could this be allergies or something else?

Well Last nite my throat felt itchy but I took a nyquil because my sinuses felt congested and I didn't have any other decongestant.This morning I woke up with an extremely itchy and sore throat(it hurt to breathe through my nose) and this crazy terrible itching in my inner ear like where I can't reach. I took an Allegra D from my friend and it has helped my ears but still a little bit of irritation in my throat. I've never had anything this bad happen to me, I do get congested sinuses and some itchiness in my throat but never anything like this, especially the ithcy inner ear. Has anybody else experienced this? Is this allergies, allergic reaction or somthing else like strep?
